Since its inception, the Ford County Historical Society has been fueled by deep commitment to protecting and celebrating the community's diverse and vibrant heritage by restoring beautiful homes and museums that the Ford County community can cherish and enjoy museums that the Ford County community can cherish and enjoy. This organization has tirelessly worked to preserve the tales and traditions that define the community and the physical spaces of historical significance. Through meticulous efforts, the Society has documented important landmarks, artifacts and events that have shaped the county's unique narrative, ensuring that future generations can connect with and learn from the rich tapestry of their local history. The Society has been instrumental in transformative projects, including the restoration of the Santa Fe Depot, the renovation of the Home of Stone and the establishment of the Legacy Center, which breathed new life into the 1948 Gamble's department store to showcase the county's rich artifacts. Furthermore, the society has built an endowment fund ensuring lasting support for future heroes of historical preservation. Ford County Historical Society also has plans to include the Fort Dodge Junior Officers Quarters in their efforts to preserve its historic essence and breathe new life into it through thoughtful, adaptive reuse.

The evening will conclude with a keynote presentation by local historian Brad Smalley, who will present on the Dodge City Saloon War and its significance to modern tourism.
